Bob was born in Sacramento, California, and raised in the mountains of Hillsville, Virginia, at Joy Ranch Home for Children. While attending high school, Bob met his wife, Jane.
After graduation, Bob and Jane became houseparents for Miracle Hill Ministries. During his tenure at Miracle Hill, Bob also served as teacher, Program Director, and Vice President of children’s ministries. After twenty years, Bob left Miracle Hill Ministries to become Executive Director of Collins Home & Family Ministries. Presently, Jane is the Assistant Director of Miracle Hill's emergency shelter for boys and girls ages birth through twelve. Bob and Jane are the parents of Ben, a 21year old college student.
Bob says he feels fortunate that over the years God has allowed him to direct youth camps, serve as a youth pastor, start an emergency shelter for teenage boys, and serve as a consultant to others who wish to open children’s homes.
Bob became the Executive Director of Pendleton Place on July 7, 2008.
